║ Not many make it this far, for better or for worse. Kudos to all who ║

║ fallen along the way. Nine years is an eternity in the scene. Many ║
║ faces have come and gone, but all have been a part of a family. We ║

║ Now, gather round. You're late for class, and your homework isn't ║

║ We do this for fun. We do this so that people can test out the tools ║
║ they need before dropping down cold hard cash on them. We do this ║
║ so that people have unrestricted access to programs they legally ║
║ own (please leave "license vs. ownership" arguments at the door; ║

║ This has always been the case. The scene is about freedom, as ║
║ opposed to profit. Those who tarnish that image will always be a ║
║ minority. Don't believe the spin doctoring and outright lies driven ║
║ by outside sources - whether they be on so-called "scene" websites, ║
║ in the media, or in poorly disguised propaganda masquerading as ║
║ entertainment. ║

║ None of these have a clue. All are an affront to scene security. ║
║ Yet some parties continue to put on a show for them in public, ║
║ yearning for the spotlight like attention starved toddlers at their ║
║ mother's apron. ║

║ Security concerns everyone in our little hobby. Interested parties ║
║ have attempted to vilify reverse engineers, coders, rippers, and ║
║ others in overly dramatic mainstream press posturing. Luckily, the ║
║ public at large doesn't buy it - they're just powerless to prevent ║
║ legislation and legislators purchased by big business from tearing ║
║ away what little rights consumers had to begin with. ║
║ ║
║ Those dollars do damage. So stop feeding you egos and craving ║
║ attention and do something productive. ║
║ ║
║ Tighten up your ships. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. ║
║ If you're just looking for the next release and don't care where it ║
║ comes from, it'll bite you in the ass. ║

║ Crying about P2P users and the like is useless. Feel free to clamp ║
║ down on your sites and remove any security threats. On the other ║
║ hand, this has become a scapegoat. "It's P2P's fault, we get too ║
║ much exposure," etc., is a pathetic excuse at best. Reality is ║
║ harsh, learn to deal with it. ║
