   centrally manage the deployment of BMC Software distributed systems
   products to remote computers in their environment. The Distribution
   Server helps customers control their product distribution,
   installation, and un-installation processes while reducing the
   costs associated with upgrades. 


   Key Features & Benefits 

    - Streamlines installation and un-installation processes
      by allowing remote management from a centralized location

    - Distributes many diverse BMC products into a heterogeneous
      environment from a consistent interface; minimizes
      administrator learning curves

    - Schedules distribution of software at specific times and
      dates. Minimizes potential monitoring disruption during
      critical hours

    - Produces reports to assist in deployment management
      including distribution history, installation success or
      failure, and system inventory


    SPECIAL NOTE:

       This program works on a number of platforms. WinNT/2k/2003 Server
       AND linux servers with apache installed.

       You cannot install and run the Distribution Server on Windows 2003
       unless IIS is configured in the following way: All Unknown ISAPI
       Extensions must be set to Allowed. Other extensions may remain
       Prohibited without affecting the Distribution Server.

       Also note that you cannot install both the RTServer component
       and the main components on Win2003 - those have to be installed
       on seperate machines.
